Bahmani -Cry, Cry, Cry!!!
I am so sick of Bahmani (HWT - Edwardsville) crying to the newspapers about the officiating. Why don't you try hitting some moves instead of just locking up all period. This kid is the most over-rated heavyweight in the state, and all he does is cry about the officiating every week. HEY BAHMANI - AT STATE THEY ARE GOING TO CALL YOU WITH STALLING WHEN ALL YOU DO IS LOCK UP!!! QUIT YOUR CRYING AND WRESTLE!!!

Thataboy SIUE1!
Way to talk trash to a 17 year old high school wrestler!
I have been present at both the regional and sectional matches of Darr and Bahmani this year. In the 1st match, Bahmani definately did not help himself out. He had little to no offense and basically just locked Darr up until the last 30 seconds when Bahmani went on an offensive flurry. Bahmani didn't deserve to win that match but to give Darr who was barely more offensive a penalty point for stalling to win the match, well that's not letting the wreslters decide the match. In the sectionals match, Bahmani was much more offensive than the 1st match. He was digging underhooks and trying to pick the knee some. Darr was not very offensive at all until he got takedown and it was amazing that he had not been warned for stalling at this point. The backpoint call was a HORRIBLE call made by the spot judge, not the main referee. Bahmani definately deserved to win this match, much more than the regionals match, but once again the officials did a poor job. I have always been one to say that you have to help yourself 1st and not expect the refs to help you out but 2 weeks in a row in the state series against the same opponent? Anyways, I hope that they see each other again in the finals this week, that would be quite awesome. Then we would really see who can win when it counts. |

I also saw both matches between Darr and Bahmani. I have to say I don't know which call was worse the stalling call at regionals or the near fall call at sectionals. I really didn't understand how Bahmani get a stalling call and Darr didn't get a stalling call at regionals. In my opinion, they both should get stalling calls because there was no effort of offense by both. I felt deeply that the match should have went to overtime; however, Darr won that match by 1 point. At sectionals, Darr took Bahmani down and Bahmani was on his back for less than a second. There was no way there was a two count. I believe that the main ref didn't even count. After that point, Bahmani head was out of the match. Sean is a great kid and he doesn't hardly ever complain, but I believe he has a reason to because that was two week in a row that the refs decided the outcome of the match.
SIUE boy, you have shown no class whatsoever for making a stupid remark like that and putting down a 17 year old high school. You probably don't even follow wrestling because Sean is not overated at all. If you have follow wrestling, you probably would have known that coach Whalen is trying his hardest to get Sean to wrestle there next year Also, I can probably gaurantee that you weren't even at Triad last week or Edwardsville this past weekend. Anyways, as a alum of SIUE (no, I didn't wrestle there), your username have disrespected that fine institution with your idiotic comments. Comments
To all that have replied to my message,
I did not mean to put down Bahmani about crying to the papers - i made this comment hoping that it would stop wrestlers from making these comments towards the papers. Yes, there were some very bad calls throughout the regionals & sectionals, but you have to take the lumps and move on. Wrestlers have to understand that the officials read newspapers also, and might be their official on a future match. This might have a big impact considering some of the officials have huge egos (ex. sectional official from Lincoln who has to be the "SHOW" when he is on the mat). As for Southern_Hospitality making the comments he made - yes, i do follow wrestling, and i was at regionals & sectionals. I have been going to State for 15 years now, and i have seen almost all of the ranked HWT's wrestle this year. We will see this weekend if Bahmani actually lives up to his state ranking. As for your comment about me being an idiot - that just proves how much you don't know. Most people on here know who you are, and do not take your comments very seriously. If you knew who i was you would probably not be making the comments you are. But, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and thats what makes Illinois matmen great. I do think that the HWT bracket is going to be exciting, and i hope for some thrilling matches this weekend. Hopefully the state will have there best officials on hand this weekend (every year they have the guy from Lincoln there - why, i will never know). |

I do sincerely apologize to you also, and anyone i might have offended with my message. I did not mean to put down Bahmani in any way shape or form. We are all just getting really excited about State at this point in the year. I am rooting for all southern Illinois wrestlers this weekend - class A & AA. I hope all southern Illinois wrestling followers, schools, and wrestlers will root on the south this weekend. We need to show the Chicago schools that the south can compete (and win). Hoping everyone makes the trip to U of I safely, and hope to see some southern Illinois wrestlers in the Grand March.
