Illinois not in the top 9?

With the success IL has every year in FS/GR duals and Fargo why is IL not one of the top states in this stat?

Flowwrestling:

Current DI College Commitments by State:
1. PA - 16
2. OH - 11
3. NY - 8
4. Michigan - 7
5. Virginia - 5
6. CA - 4
6. NJ - 4
6. Minnesota - 4
9. Wisconsin - 3
9. Georgia - 3

Stats can be misleading,

That isnt even a ranking, its just the number of people that have committed. Just means Illinois wrestlers are undecided right now, which would make sense, since they have had success. They have multiple people interested and are taking their time deciding it.

Come on, 84% of everyone knows that....

yeah...last years illinois class had more top 50 recruits than any other state.....

and several of them were a big reason why they had so much Fargo success over the summer.

This year appears to be a bit of a down year for seniors.

Maybe it is a down year, but that would mean that IL has less than 2 commitments, that is obviously incorrect, or will be when all is said and done. That probably means that IL did not reply to a questionaire, or rules about commitments are different or something stupid like that. For example the testing period for ACT might be different than the PSAT and those are more PSAT (east coast) states. This is a very odd time of year to be counting commitments for wrestling - maybe those are combo football/wrestling or something... Or - and this is only a guess - is that there are so many more colleges with wrestling programs in those states that the kids are wanting to get scholarships more..., - there was a thread about recently - both PA and OH have 4 times as many colleges (NY even more) that have wrestling programs - those kids are trying to get scholarships, they go to the right camps...I'm am sure there are better people on this site to explain it but there is a lot more to getting in the programs than being the best wrestler. - Hey the unemployment went down - then we learned CA didn't turn in their numbers and weren't counted...so you never know...
