If the tournament is outside on the turf, then coaching will only be allowed for 8 and under. If it is run inside, then coaching will be allowed for all age levels.

Based on the forecast Illinois Summer State will be held in the Fieldhouse. We will still be running the tournament on 9 full mats. Weigh-ins are 6:30 - 8:00 a.m., wrestling will start at approximately 9:00. Follow the signs to parking lot D. $20 per competitor, $5 for adult spectators, $3 for students, 5 and under are free.

Was there 9-11 am or so. Looked like a great turnout, from little kids all the way to old-timers. Coach Cook did a nice job from what I could see. Good looking tourney and everyone seemed like they were having fun(refs..kids.table workers).

Thanks to everyone that participated in Illinois Summer State! 300 wrestlers representing Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Special thanks to our friends that made the trip from East St. Louis! We wrestled on 9 full mats in our fieldhouse due to excessive heat (87 degrees) and the possibility of rain. I believe everyone appreciated the air conditioning and spacious venue. We started wrestling at 9:15 a.m. and most of the brackets finished before 2:00. 1st - 4th received custom IL Summer State medals, and champions took home bracket boards. Placers standing on the podium made the experience extra special. One proud mom had tears in her eyes as she took pictures. A reminder of what this is all about...

Our bout cards were hand written, so we do not have electronic results to post. Overall the brackets were highly competitive with great wrestling in all age divisions. Thanks again Illinois wrestling community for your support, allowing us to make a generous donation to Ellis and his family. See you next summer!
