Where did a East Leyden's teams in the late 70's fit in. I remember one year they had 5 state champs. They have to rank up there, but I do not know anything about the rest of the team.

The best team ever (East Leyden 1978) under the old weight classes (12) and holds the record for the most points scored in the individual state tournament. In fact, East Leyden was so dominant in dual meets in the late '60s and 70's had there been a Dual Team State back then, Farina probably wins about 11 titles...no BS. At one point they won 59 straight...and that's vs Chicago area competition.

Old weight classes (12): 1978 East Leyden; a bunch of SQs, 4 champs: Conrad 126, Krist 132, Farina 138, and Bankson Hwt. Garret was 3rd at 167. Modern weight classes (14): 2006 Carl Sandburg - LOADED. Breezed thru Dual Team state without really wrestling their full line-up. Individual state placers: McAuliffe 2nd (112), Precin 1st (130), Conrad Polz 1st (135), Cusik 1st (140), Pretto 4th (152), Friedl 2nd (160), Rettke 6th (275). This team also had Morrison (103), Schmeski (119), and Clinton Polz (171). Also, note that Montini WAS in the AA tournament that year (when it was just A & AA). Both teams were undefeated and won state by a mile. East Leyden set a record for scoring in the individual tournament and Carl Sandburg ended up ranked 3rd in the nation behind Blair and St Eds.

Actually trackwrestling posted the results wrong. I had a technical fall in my first match, pinned the kid in the second match, but ran into a quick 19 year old that was very strong. Was able to pull out the first period and was winning the second period but unfortanetly ran out of gas. You shouldn't always believe everything you read on the Internet. I can post the matches if you need further proof.
