Throwback Thursday: White Vs Roth
We are starting up a new feature on Illinois Matmen and calling it Throwback Thursday. We plan to release classic matches from the Matmen archives twice each month. We need help from the Matmen community to keep this going. Contact us if you have matches on VHS, DVD, or digital format that you think should be featured on Throwback Thursday and we will help get them online.

Lockport's Lucas Roth shocked the world at the 2006 Dvorak Invitational by upsetting (at the time) 3-time state champion and the nation's #1 ranked Albert White of St. Rita at 152 pounds.

Roth and White would have their rematch in the IHSA state finals with White winning 8-7 to join the elite group of 4-time state champions.

Roth went on to wrestle at Northern Illinois and White ended up at Oklahoma State.

Throwback Thursday .... I love it!

I remember that match like it was yesterday, that place was going crazy.

The next two Throwback Thursdays will be Prater/Lloyd and Wright/Davis. Which one do you want to see first?

Also, let us know your suggestions for future Throwback Thursdays.
