2012 Illinois/Indiana Classic Dual Results

Team Illinois came away with two victories at the 2012 IWCOA Illinois/Indiana Classic Duals, which took place Sunday at DeKalb High School.

Team Reagan (Small School) won 42-28 and Team Lincoln (Large School) won 46-21.

I think you have a typo. At the meet the scoreboard had Team Reagan (Small School) winning 42 -28, not 32-28. Illinois looked very good. There were several undefeated wrestlers meeting each other and I think the Illinois kids won all of them. Very enjoyable meet.

I was shocked to see how many undefeated state champ Indiana wrestlers didn't just lose, but got manhandled by Illinois kids. Way to go Illinois!!!

In "fairness", and I pulled for Team(s) Illinois, I was impressed by Petrov,Todd, Ayersman, Kral and most certainly Tsirtsis in victory (Indiana) and the efforts of McKinley, Harvey and Lynde in defeat. Lots of good wrestling. So many solid kids with lots of "undecided" college destinations on both sides. Just hope the ones who want to continue can?

Illinois' depth is too much but the Hoosier state produces some great kids though...they can hold their own nationally.

I enjoyed watching the matches online. I was impressed how Illinois dominated many undefeated Indiana state champs. Shows how strong our state is. I also give Indiana much credit for taking on the challenge going up against some of our best.
