Anyone who went to Montini was taught differently. The majority of Montini fans respect the great programs around the state. I for one hope Marmion keeps getting better. That season was one of the most exciting in the history of those two schools.

Here's to hoping that the IL wrestling community can set up a top teams mega dual every year regardless of who the top teams are. Some kind of a late season dual at rotating sites around the state to help draw fans and interest in wrestling would be awesome. Could you imagine the top teams putting on a show like that in Sterling or Bloomington or Lake County or at the United Center (OK, that's a pipe dream, maybe St. Andrews home of the Gold Gloves is more realistic)?

Illinois Matmen is in a unique position to make something like this happen. Given the connections that you all have, you could organizationally make it happen. The big question is funding. Sure, there are companies that will sponsor such a tournament but it's also a a chance to test the real interest of IL wrestling fans. Relying on tickets at the gate is a risk but there may be another way.

If you were to set up a paypal account or other online donation mechanism, you could advertise it to fans on this site. The donation could be to primarily fund the costs dual with a secondary goal of providing support to injured wrestlers and their families. Even if the worst case scenario occurs and the dual gets cancelled, there will be some funds to help out wrestlers.

I'm not a rich man. Due to work and travel, I may not even be able to attend the dual. But, I would gladly donate $50 (maybe more) to see such an event happen. It would be great for IL wrestling.

PS. If it happens, please try to get Mr. Twist, Mack, and Bu be the broadcast team. They were an awesome combination.

im sorry but i still believe that the IRONMAN is the hardest tourney in the country ,to place 4th like marmion did in 2010 is quite afeet,thats my opinion -sorry for pointing this out -but who did better????
