I think you are right there, he has not lost at Fargo (I think both styles)

Seems like this is usually in IN. Seems like Dekalb an odd locations. Seems like IL has a stronger line-up than they usually do. I think IL is generally a tougher state but IN usually rounds up a stronger line-up, but not this year. - Hasn't IN won most of these in the past?

It switches between Indiana and Illinois every other year. Two years ago it was held in Hinsdale and last year at Wabash College in Indiana.

IN vs. IL

Illinois is clearly the better wrestling state, period. With that said, Indiana's top kids can wrestle or beat the top kids in Illinois. The reason Illinois is better is due to the sheer numbers of wrestlers (twice as many as Indiana) and for every "stud" Indiana has, Illinois has 2-3. Indiana has produced some GREAT wrestlers i.e. Andrew Howe, Angel Escobedo, etc. but when you really examine the wrestling in both states, Illinois is the better state.

The past few years have shown that Illinois can arguably be the best wrestling state in the country, based on FARGO and Junior Duals results. Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey will have something to say about that but as for IL/IN, Illinois is the better wrestling state from Top to Bottom. No one will convince me otherwise.

The issue with the dual is...only seniors are allowed to wrestle. The other issue is...some of the studs (on both sides) don't wrestle. It's impossible to really tell who the better squad would be if you don't have the BEST of the BEST facing each other regardless of what year in school they are. State Champs vs. State Champs. This is easy to figure out in Indiana...they have 1 state champ! It's nothing but debates in Illinois on who's better due to having 3 classes. I guess you could wrestle them off? LOL

Residori beat him 8-0. Hard to argue that one.

Do state champs wrestle off for the #1 spot.

With all the talk about who should wrestle on the first team why don't they have them wrestle off? Or do they already do that. Their are a few guys from the south who should have a shot at the #1 spot. Mayes and Pierce are two of south's best. So why not give them a wrestle off.

I think both these guys will surprise you Northern types.....
