Generally, you are left with family and fans to report results on this forum. I don't recall schools doing so; I'm pretty sure they didn't when my son was involved back in 08 and 09.

Mencoe has been tracking this for years; he'd have a good handle on how he gets/got results.

Upon my departure from the Lake Zurich regional, I asked the director if they would be posted and he told me he was going to email the results to Illinoismatmen. I don't know if that happened or not.

I tracked results for about 4 seasons. I don't understand why it was so difficult. I was only able to get 8 or 9 of the 16 regional results.

The first season the 1st post had over 30,000 views and the 2nd round of results had about 20,000. I thought that would bring more interest to IMM and the regional host's to work together to get the results out to the fans. This never happened. (East St.Louis results are on track )

The problem is the F/S tournaments (reg/sec) are not IHSA and depend on volunteers for their success. Some of the volunteers don't work for the host schools and the final results location is unknown. Some are done with paper and pencil. I remember one was handled by a ref. and another by a local firemen. Don't get me wrong several were e-mailed to me in 20-60 minutes upon my request.

The thing I remember the most was how much everyone I called wanted to help, but most only had ideas on where the results might be.

Frosh/Soph State not like the regular season

First, continued praise for Mencoe as he has nearly single handedly promoted the Frosh/Soph state for many years now. His tracking of the underclassman is unique and fun for those wrestlers and fans.

The Frosh/Soph is evolving and apprear to be catching up to the 'regular season'.

It was not too long ago that Admin had to fight to get results in after regular season and even Regional/Sectional. Now, it appears to be almost automatic that a tournament director sends them in as soon as possbile. Hopefully that will become the norm in Frosh Soph State some day, too. Maybe next year.

The way it evolved during the regular season was via fans, parents and coaches insisting that the brackets be sent. Years ago, I remember giving our local AD an email with the web address and fax number for ILMatmen to make sure it got done. Then I printed the email and handed it to him at the end of the tournament and got his promise the he would send them in. The next year, he sent me an email in advance (heading me off) to say that it would be done. Now it's second nature.

How do the rules apply to a wrestler who lives near the state line and qualifies for the state tournament in the neighboring state where he attends school?

So your asking if they live in IL but go to a differnt school out of state? I would be assuming that it is a private school they go to if they go to school in a different state than they live? Elaborate a little more.

If he is districted in a neighboring states school and that is not IL then he should not qualify to wrestle in the IL AAU fresh / soph tourny IMO because that is for IL HS fresh soph wrestlers and he would not be an IL wrestler if he is in another states district.

It's a public school in KY. Looked at link on trackwrestling and it listed his KSHAA State Championship results last weekend.

So did he participate in the F-S regionals? A strict reading of the rule says he can't have qualified for the IHSA state tournament, so by that measure he would be eligible. That being said, he is certainly violating the spirit of the rule by particpating in the F-S series, and a protest filed with the sponsors would probably result in his removal from further competition. And if I'm another competitor, I certainly would be protesting.
