Last Friday, Sterling Newman defeated Erie Phrophetstown in the regional finals for basketball. Senior standout Mike Lee scored 23 points...however Mike Lee isn't just an athletic basketball player, he's a superlative kid and an awesome friend. When I would go into school early in the morning to practice shooting on the wrestling dummy, Mike Lee would almost always be in the gym practicing his shot as well. Sometime we would even ride to school together. He understands wrestlers and respects us, as well as recognizes the sacrifices we make. On more than one occasion, he's defended the wrestlers in various arguments about how wrestling is more of a lifestyle than a sport, how making fun of a wrestler cutting weight is like messing with a mama bear's cub, and about how he knows it's more physically challenging then anything else you'll ever do in life. Please look past the fact that he plays basketball and vote for him; he an extremely hard worker, an is exactly the kind of kid that anybody would want as a wrestling teammate, or friend in general
