Thanks

I really appreciate the updates, congratulations to MC sounds like it was as close as Leroy Porta 2 years ago going down to the last match and Leroy losing by 2. A group of young guys from MC getting it done, again congratulations , you earned the win. SN is a tough team with some really terrific wrestlers. Its unfortunate that we are going to see some teams not go to state duals that really are in the top 8 but until IHSA makes a few changes we are going to continue dealing with the same scenario. Good luck to all the teams Saturday. Look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Congrats to MC on the win and also a big congrats to Newman for a wonderful season. I am also wondering if coach Davis was in attendance for Newman, since his father had a heart attack and was flown to Rockford yesterday.

Really? "outofshape" You should change your name to "out of original thought". I figured the "catholic schools only recruit" argument was played out years ago. Here is a news flash. Private schools aren't the only ones that allow other kids in. Erie for example has open enrollment, and if you want to pony up the money you are welcome here.

I don't have a problem with that either. Why should a parent be forced to leave his kid in a district if he doesn't want to? Should Jesse Kennedy been forced to stay at Erie after his coach was fired? Should Chris Stallings not have been allowed to get out of Savanna when he wan't getting along there? If a parent wants to give his kid a better chance academically or athletically, I see no problem with it.

I have great respect for many of the programs in our area. What I don't respect is comments like yours.

The argument is alive and well as far as I am concerned. I went to Riverdale and wrestled on some very good teams we never went out of our way to find other talent outside of our school district. I guess that's the benefit of going to a private school is that no matter who you are you can go there... Did you wrestle with Jesse and Chris?? or wrestle during the 90's?? and you think kids are leaving other programs to wrestle at Erie?? well maybe now that Mallery is gone... I am not saying teams like Newman dont deserve to win, if they could do it with kids that live in the area that would shut me up!!

What kids does Newman have that are as you say, "out of the area?"

only ask bc I don't know Outofshape. At Assumption we pretty much have the same argument.
