The IWAY Individual State Wrestling Tournament will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012. More information can be found at the website below. This is a qualifier for the NUWAY Nationals to be held on April 14-15.

It is run by the same people that run the Border Wars Tournament, The Fall Hammer Classic, which goes smoothly each year.

IWAY has received a handful of inquiries about the conflicting date of USAW Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Falls, IA and the IWAY Individual State Championships. We foresaw this as an issue while choosing this date, but it was the best option for us at this time. We prefer that all kids interested in wrestling at NUWAY Nationals qualify through the IWAY State Championships, however, we do not want the state of Illinois to miss out on the opportunity to participate in the NUWAY Nationals so we will handle each kid on a case-by-case basis. We have created a petition form that can be found at www.iwaywrestling.org.

Can you post numbers registered by division? Most of us aren't going to waste a day if our kid gets 1 match and "qualifies" for "Nationals."

Deadline is tomorrow. No matrix/wrestler list. Looks like the Purple Pummel in Wisconsin for us. You'll find you will get more to register without the unknown factor...
